I was recently invited to be the guest speaker at Leadership Middle Tennessee’s opening event at MTSU. I shared about the severe workforce shortage in advanced manufacturing, the answer to the problem- Dream it. Do it. Tennessee, and the need for open, dynamic communication skills to be successful as a leader.
I also shared about the need for education reform in Tennessee. I was a panelist at the Leaders & Laggards Conference on Sept. 11 in Washington DC on the Making It Count, Report Overview discussion. This panel discussed the potential impact of the report from the business community’s perspective; how the business community could be advocates for greater K–12 outcomes and accountability; and why their involvement is important.
