Be Pro Be Proud Tennessee Hosts Draft Day to Spotlight Skilled Trades Talent and Connect Students with Employers

Be Pro Be Proud Tennessee, a workforce development initiative of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce, is calling on employers to take part in its upcoming Draft Day on May 8, 2026, at the Carolyn Smith Innovation Center in Sumner County. Presented by Meta and held in partnership with Sumner County Schools, this one-of-a-kind event connects employers directly with high school students ready to enter the skilled workforce or envision their future pathways. 

Inspired by the excitement of a draft-style event, Draft Day gives employers the unique opportunity to meet and recruit students who have committed to technical education and are prepared for careers in high-demand fields like advanced manufacturing, construction, transportation, and technology.

Employers will have the opportunity to connect with this year’s emerging workforce, as well as students preparing to enter the workforce. This is a chance to make meaningful hiring decisions, engage with future talent, and position the company as a leader in building the next generation of talent. 

With workforce shortages continuing across key industries, Draft Day offers companies a no-cost opportunity to:

Draft Day is part of Be Pro Be Proud Tennessee’s mission to elevate skilled trades and create stronger connections between education and industry—ensuring Tennessee businesses have access to the workforce they need to grow. 

Employer participation is completely free, but space is limited. The deadline to register for the event is April 22, 2026 

Companies are encouraged to sign up to exhibit and secure their spot in this high-impact workforce development event.
