Tennessee Business-Policy Alliance Releases Report on Tennessee’s Business Framework
A coalition of Tennessee business organizations today released a new report outlining the policy decisions that have helped make Tennessee one of the top states in the nation for business. The Tennessee Business-Policy Alliance is led by the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the National Federation of Independent Business.
The report, Tennessee’s Business-Focused Policy Record – A Look Back and Look Ahead, highlights legislative actions that strengthened the state’s tax structure and delivered long-needed reforms to workers’ compensation, unemployment, labor, and civil justice systems, creating a more predictable and stable business climate.
The findings are supported by a broad coalition of business organizations from across the state:
- Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation
- Greater Tennessee Associated Builders and Contractors
- Tennessee Bankers Association
- Tennessee Fuel & Convenience Store Association
- Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association
- Tennessee Retail Association
“Tennessee’s strong policies are creating an environment where businesses can thrive and succeed,” said Josh Brown, CEO of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry. “This report celebrates the progress we’ve made and highlights the many strengths that will continue to attract investment and talent to our state.”
These reforms have played a key role in Tennessee’s high national business rankings and in attracting employers and investment from across the country.
“Small businesses are the backbone of Tennessee’s economy, and this report shows how smart policies are helping them thrive,” said Jim Brown, State Director of NFIB Tennessee. “From expanding opportunities to supporting job creation, Tennessee continues to be a state where entrepreneurs can grow and succeed.”
The report also identifies opportunities to build on this success, noting Tennessee’s strong workforce, diverse industries, strategic location, natural resources, and ongoing innovation as key assets for the state’s continued economic strength.
The coalition credits current and past state leaders for strengthening Tennessee’s business environment and emphasized the importance of preserving recent policy gains while pursuing future improvements.
